This book is called The Spiderwick Chronicles the Seeing Stone it is the second in the series. There are actually two authors Tony Diterlizzy and Holly Black. Holly Black.

                It’s fantasy because of the magical creatures there is some realistic fiction but it is fantasy It is also narrative because it tells a story and it has a plot

                The story takes place in Maine and the three main charictors are Jared , Simon and Mallory Grace.

                Since it is a series this isn’t the full summery. First Jared gets home from detention and goes up to Arther Spiderwicks library and talks to Thimbletack a creature the size or a mechanical pencil. And Thimbletack sees goblins abducting Simon Thimbletack advises Jared and they go into a old shed and find a strange eyepiece and a stone with a whole worn through it witch allowed magical creatures to be seen if they didn’t want to that’s why Thimbletack had to advise Jared about the abduction.

 After that Jared and Mallory set out to save Simon. Jared with the eye piece sees things like faces on trees and things flying through the air, the things flying were sprites they can be described as creatures that look like Tinkerbell but with leaves for hair. They reach a stream and a giant water troll comes out of the stream. The troll tries to eat them but he can’t they’re in the sun light and if trolls touch sunlight they get burned. Then they reach the goblin camp, the goblins eating cat and singing a camp fire song about preparing animals to cook don’t notice Jared and Mallory. Then Jared sees his brother in a cage hanging from a tree.

Jared climbs the tree to get his brother down but just a few branches before he can reach him a hobgoblin named Hogsqweal wanted out Jared hesitated then the hobgoblin said if he didn’t he’d scream So Jared got his brother and the hobgoblin out and the hobgoblin gave them the sight the thing that the seeing stone gave Jared which allows them to see the magical creatures who don’t want to be seen. As they got down they noticed a griffin the griffin has a broken wing and a hurt leg. The goblins are waiting for it to die so they are messing with it one goblin hits it with a stick and Simon a animal lover screams at the goblins to stop and the goblins start chasing them as they reach stream the troll is out of the stream and being about midnight the troll can move on land without being burnt then Jared knew trolls were very ignorant and could be fooled easily came up with a plan and the outcome of that plan was some goblins in the trolls stomach. As they ran away Simon convinced his siblings to help bring the griffin back with them. As they came back to the goblin camp they saw hogsqweal and he gave Mallory the sight. They dragged the griffin back on a old tarp. And after they get back to their house the book ends.

                I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy or adventure. The Spiderwick Chronicles are one of my favorite series of books next to some anime and I guess this is the end of the book report I hope you liked it.
